Our Goal for 2016 is to make the Spirit Ride campus wheelchair accessible. How? We are launching a fundraising campaign called, “Operation: Let’s Get Rollin!” This is an exciting campaign and we’d love for you to be a part of the movement. Read on to find out how YOU can help to get things rollin’ at Spirit Ride!
You’ve heard of Black Friday (which really starts on Thursday) and after that there’s Cyber Monday so if you didn’t spend enough on Friday, you can keep buying online and skip the crowds…But the true spirit of the holidays reveals itself in something called Giving Tuesday. Established in 2012 as a global day of giving, Giving Tuesday harnesses the potential of social media and the generosity of good people like you to bring about real change in their communities. By offering the chance to support non-profit organizations with a charitable gift and share their unselfish acts with the hashtag, #UNselfie, individuals HAVE made a difference. This year, Giving Tuesday will be on December 1st…AND this year …Spirit Ride will be a part of the movement.
By building awareness through Social Media likes and shares more people will be knowledgeable about the benefits of equine therapy. We have set a goal of one thousand likes That’s a lot – but we are certain that even in a small town like ours – it’s doable. The second part of our goal is to raise $10,000. Yes – that’s a lot of money. And- to be honest, it’s still not enough to become completely accessible. But it will most definitely get “Operation Let’s Get Rollin” off to a significant start. Our immediate area of concern will be to build a wheelchair accessible restroom. Currently, the only restroom facilities on the campus are located in the old farmhouse and there are six steps leading up to the front porch. This is definitely not acceptable and we are committed to improving this situation.Here’s the math…Spirit Ride needs $10,000 to accomplish Phase One of Operation “Let’s Get Rollin”. 1000 new likes on social media will spread the word about our mission and…if each of those new likes dontates only $10 to SpiritRideNC.org then our goal will be met!
So tomorrow morning when you’re tempted to buy that cup of froo froo coffee and a muffin…think about what that $10 could do for the kids at Spirit Ride. Your $10 will play an important role in making the Spirit Ride campus wheelchair accessible.
